Best known for his work with the rock/metal band Blacklist 9, which he co-founded in 2013 with his son Kyle Silva, Lonnie has long been a respected force in the hard rock and metal community. In 2023, tragedy struck with the untimely passing of Kyle, leaving a profound void in Lonnie’s life and across the music world.
After nearly a year away from the spotlight to grieve and reflect, Lonnie returned to songwriting — not as an escape, but as a path to healing. He partnered with acclaimed producer Shawn McGhee, whose credits include work with Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Hellyeah, and Drowning Pool, among many others. Together, they began crafting what would become “Silva” — an emotional tribute and a bold artistic statement. Shawn enlisted an elite lineup of musicians for the project, including:

Though Lonnie wrote the album in its entirety — from drumbeats to guitar riffs, lyrics to vocal melodies — he made the profound decision to step back from performing. Instead, he entrusted his deeply personal work to this remarkable group of artists, allowing their talents and emotional interpretations to bring the songs to life.
“Silva” is more than just an album — it’s a journey through loss, resilience, and rebirth. Through raw emotion and powerful collaboration, it stands as both a tribute to Kyle Silva and a testament to the enduring power of music.
