Suprising cover EP, “Without You”, out now!
Norway’s SHINING have released a new EP, Without You, featuring three unique reinterpretations on pop classics Without You (Avicii), Someone Like You (Adele), and Fairytale Of New York (The Pogues). Known as an industrial jazz metal band, these covers are a testament to the band’s commitment to pushing musical boundaries and surprising listeners.
The songs literally bleed from the heart, and connects with Shining’s previous Nordic melancholy from their most popular album Animal (2018), while utilising saxophones and industrial synths on the band’s classic Blackjazz (2010).
The Without You EP reminds us why Shining has been called one of the world’s most adventurous bands. Last week they released the explosive Blackjazz Live At The Heavy Water Plant live album and concert film. This week the band surprises everyone once again by hurling the pendulum all the way to the other pop extreme.
It’s a journey from the haunting melodies of Adele to the festive punk energy of The Pogues, all reimagined through Shining’s adventurous lens.
