Posthuman Abomination have returned with their second album, Mankind Recall, once more putting the weak and flawed nature of humanity to a punishing examination of brutal death metal. Debut album, Transcending Embodiment was a devastating strike, forceful and intimidating in its muscular attack and Posthuman Abomination have built upon that adamantine skeleton, creating a cyborg war machine of heart stopping, destructive power. Mankind Recall attacks with inhuman precision; juddering, mechanistic and undefeatable. The songs effortlessly change gears from terrifying blasting velocity to measured, grinding riffs, the band switching tempo and direction with stunning control, never relenting in their hail of fire for a second. The jaw-dropping drum barrage supplied by Marco Coghe, who also provides live skin battery for Devangelic, is incomprehensible in its bewildering speed and intensity, but it’s matched at every turn by the inflammatory guitar work of Max Santarelli (Vomit The Soul) and bruising bass bludgeoning of Andrea Pillitu. Then over that carefully constructed engine of sonic violence a voice from the far side of hell intones its words of judgement; Lorenzo Orru’s bowel bursting roars on tracks like ‘Null’ are truly second to none. Mankind Recall will take you to the brink of annihilation.
