New EP!
Rumour has it that the idea for the band arose through mutual respect created after a 15 round bare-knuckle boxing match in the keg room of the Coraki Hotel, other sources that are somewhat dubious suggest that the pair of 40-year-olds that are well passed their physical prime couldn’t in fact go two rounds with a revolving door and decided the world needed another shitty band at an under 9’s hockey game.
Divesting themselves of their responsibilities the pair hunkered down in a sandstone cave in the Bungawalbin state forest for several months, only to emerge bleary eyed to a world that had been burnt to the ground over summer and was in a complete state of panic over a runny nose.
Armed with a bag of exciting tracks (exciting mainly because they were different every time they were played) they proceeded to attempt to recruit/groom their future band mates.
After months of begging, Paul agreed to join the band, a talented guitarist, he was lured to the band on a swathe of promises including increased royalties and his own tour bus, only to be forced to play bass after signing a contract that appeared to be drafted by Jerry Heller.
However, rather than have to continue to play in what he hurtfully penned in a letter “an audible train wreck” he decided to take his chances in the murder capital of the world and moved to South Australia.
After weeks of mourning, Paul was replaced by the talented Joel eight hours later on bass, a seasoned campaigner, who showed us that it is in fact ok to hear the bass guitar and that practice is also beneficial.
Upon hearing that the dreaded bass role had been filled and deciding that his luck was likely to run out soon in Adelaide, Paul returned to the fold as the second guitarist.
Finally through a chance meeting and no less than three restraining orders, vocalist, keyboardist, Ben decided to join the band and after delicately explaining that everything we had done for the last year and a half was shithouse he proceeded to tweak and make good our efforts – however, ultimately we broke him too, but Benny left a lasting legacy with us for which we will always be grateful for…..enter Scott Ward the vocal powerhouse who has joined the team and can be heard on first single ‘Banded Eyes’.
The music? Arguably the best band in Coraki (which is akin to Seattle in the early 90’s) some have stated its somewhat progressive however after digging a little deeper into these comments what was meant was that the songs get progressively worse, anyway we love riffs and there’s HEAPS of them, we are unapologetic for our lack originality and potential plagiarism (not an admission of guilt), but we hope you like it!
