New album, “Trinitas”, out on November 6th!

Comment from the band on the album: “Writing Trinitas was both a challenge and a burden. There was the fear of not being able to compose an album that would do justice to its predecessor, both musically and lyrically, and in terms of the energy we all wanted to share with the audience. Although the majority of the music had always been composed by Dany, the departure of the previous lead singer had a significant emotional impact, and having to continue and rebuild a new dynamic with Cédrick was somewhat daunting. The shift in vocals from male to female was also, in itself, a considerable challenge, but one that was relatively easy to achieve. In the end, it was the change Nova Spei needed to get back on its feet and move forward into another chapter of its life. Fortunately, the joy of playing together as a band quickly resurfaced. Working with Francis Perron in the studio also greatly helped to rediscover the pleasure of playing and composing.” – Nova Spei
The third album was produced by the band, with mixing done by Francis Perron of Radicart Studio (Voivod, Martyr) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering (Faith No More, Voivod, Halford, Yes).
Founded in 2012 by guitarist Dany Soucy (Dook, Legion), Nova Spei has spent more than a decade establishing itself in Quebec’s metal scene through over 100 performances across Quebec and Ontario, radio airplay, and music featured during Montreal Canadiens games. The band’s evolution reached a defining moment in 2025 with the arrival of vocalist Emmanuelle Desbiens-Dubois and lead guitarist Cédrick Charland, ushering in a bold new era fully realized on their upcoming album, TRINITAS.
Desbiens-Dubois’ addition brings a powerful new emotional depth and intensity to Nova Spei’s modern metal sound while remaining faithful to the band’s roots. Completing the lineup alongside Soucy, bassist Nicolas Dumais-Brouillette, drummer Julien De Carufel, and Charland, the group has crafted its heaviest, most organic, and dynamic material to date.
“Fans will feel the rebirth of the band. The feminine vocal shift brings intensity, emotion, and a new perspective. This album is more organic, more passionate, and more honest than anything we’ve done,” says Soucy.
TRINITAS represents the third era of Nova Spei, built on themes of rebirth, unity, and rediscovery. Marking the band’s first experience recording in a professional studio, the album saw producer Francis Perron (Voivod, Martyr) guide the group away from a heavily sequenced approach toward a rawer, more human sound. The project was further elevated by mastering engineer Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Halford, Yes), whose involvement helped shape an album that blends djent, progressive metal, industrial textures, and modern metal influences into Nova Spei’s most authentic and emotionally charged release yet.
