New album, “The Last Sun”, out on May 3rd!
Mynded? Can you eat that? Is that technical jargon? Oh no! Mynded is a musical ensemble. To be precise, a wild THRASH metal band with all the trimmings: fast, electrifying riffs, driving drums, rousing live shows and headbanging until you drop. Because there are already enough half-baked, half-hearted things!
The quartet started out like any band in 2011: green behind the ears, but hungry for more from the start. More rehearsals, more performances, more discipline for all aspects of the band.
The first manifesto followed in 2013 in the form of a completely self-produced EP entitled “Humanity Faded Away”. The title track is still one of the absolute groove hits of Mynded’s live show, as well as the acoustic triple espresso “No Regrets”, which will make every metal fan’s adrenaline skyrocket.
The boys’ enthusiasm for playing quickly spread, so that the first small tour was completed in 2014. A year later, the debut album “Dead End Paradise” saw the artificial light of record stores.
With a label with worldwide distribution as reinforcement, the album became a personal milestone for the band.
Musically, the work perfectly summarizes Mynded’s influences and role models at the time: Comparisons with the giants of thrash metal (Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament) as well as with more modern bands like Trivium or Lamb of God were not long in coming.
Almost 100 shows followed, which were landed without any booking agency, completely in the do-it-yourself style. From the smallest bar to converted tractor trailers to the main stages of major festivals like Metaldays, the four rockers have played on all stages. People were even invited to Kiev, Ukraine, to perform the songs that were once composed in their youth room.
All the kilometers covered with squashed limbs in a packed car, all the cinematic after-show parties, all these experiences make Mynded more than just an ordinary band among many. It is a unit, connected by deep, long-standing friendship and absolute passion for music.
The group with Niko, Jonas, Joachim and Alex is currently promoting their second album, “The Last Sun”, due to be released on May 3rd. Ten new songs are going to kick your asses. Mynded are extremely happy to be released on stage again. The audience can look forward to new songs that have never been performed before, as well as old hits from the band. Warm up your neck muscles, it’s getting loud again!
