Debut album, “Moonbath”, out on November 22nd!
Renowned guitarist and avant-garde musician Davide Tiso, known for his groundbreaking work with Ephel Duath and subsequent projects like Red Rot, Howling Sycamore and Gospel of the Witches, announces “Moonbath,” his debut solo album as LIGHTOWER. Set for release on November 22, the album introduces Tiso’s first fully electronic music endeavor, delving into an ethereal world of ambient, cinematic, and otherworldly sounds.
Released on the Italian label Inertial Music, “Moonbath” sees Tiso pushing his boundary-defying sound in new directions, crafting hypnotic compositions that transport listeners through landscapes both real and surreal. In LIGHTOWER, Tiso combines drum machines and vintage-sounding digital synths with his unique storytelling, creating soundscapes that evoke dreamlike journeys across space, time, and memory.
Reflecting on the origins of this project, Tiso explains, “I wanted a solo electronic project like LIGHTOWER since I started using synths and drum machines with Gospel Of The Witches back in 2012. The mood I’m after is gentle yet dark, pensive, almost suspended. Picture that subtle discomfort about not being able to retrace a dream…”
The album’s exclusive artwork by renowned artist Niklas Sundin (former guitarist of Dark Tranquillity and founder of Cabin Fever Media) brings visual depth to the album’s cosmic and meditative atmosphere. The cover, which captures Sundin’s surreal yet grounded style, complements Tiso’s sonic landscapes and draws the listener deeper into LIGHTOWER’s immersive world.
