New 4-track Halloween special "Evil Art Session"!
Hailing from the dark forests of Dalarna, Sweden and writing from the solitary confines of her cabin with just a guitar for company has given HELGA’s songwriting a unique sense of introspection. Employing an eclectic blend of pop, metal, post-rock, goth, folk and classical influences to devastating effect.
Proving that despite proudly emerging from black metal roots, HELGA is willing to embrace modern pop and folk elements. Distinctly melodic without giving up it’s unsettling character, it makes for an eclectic, unique blend, and cements Helga’s status as one to watch on the dark pop / nu-goth scene.
Now by releasing her Evil Art Session, presented by the Stockholm-based indie label Icons Creative Evil Art, HELGA introduces a new interpretation of three of here previously released songs, alongside a version of I Want to Run with the Wolves by label sibling Bonnie Li.
Talking about her new release HELGA says: ”Reimagining a handful of my songs for this stripped-back Evil Art Session was a challenge in the best possible way. We especially had fun with our cover of Bonnie Li’s ‘I Want to Run with the Wolves’. This was my first performance with my guitarists Cai and Cameron and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. We hope you enjoy it. H x”
