New album, “This Ain’t Real”, out on September 26th!
Recorded at Sweet Silence Studio with legendary producer Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica), the record delivers nine tracks stretching from chainsaw punk to cinematic baroque pop, with guest appearances from post-punk icon Peter Peter and powerhouse vocalist Persille Ingerslev.
HalfCutLemon is a Danish band hailing from Copenhagen, known for their eclectic blend of genres that span dream-pop, surf rock, and punkadelic sounds. The band comprises Jesper Christiansen on vocals and keyboards, Jacob Birck Laustsen on drums, Flemming Steen Andersen on bass, and Sigurd (Sigi) Kramer Hansen on guitar.
In the summer of 2017, HalfCutLemon released their debut EP, “This Galaxy Is Ours,” featuring five tracks that showcase their unique fusion of punk and psychedelic influences. The EP was made available on CD, as well as through digital download and streaming platforms.
Their single “Desert Sun” was released on July 8, 2022, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the Roswell incident. This instrumental dream-pop track with a surf vibe serves as a soundtrack to the mysterious event. The accompanying music video further encapsulates the song’s ethereal atmosphere.
On August 8, 2022, HalfCutLemon unveiled their album “Oh No It’s U-Love!” comprising ten tracks that continue to explore their diverse musical style. The album is available for streaming and download on various platforms, including Bandcamp and SoundCloud.
In addition to their original works, the band contributed a rendition of “Hello Skinny” to The Residents’ fan-centric project, “I AM A RESIDENT!” in 2018. Their interpretation was selected by the avant-garde icons for inclusion in the CD release, highlighting HalfCutLemon’s experimental approach to music.
HalfCutLemon’s innovative sound and commitment to genre-blending have solidified their presence in Copenhagen’s vibrant music scene, offering listeners a refreshing and dynamic auditory experience.
