New album, “Evil Black Church”, out on October 23rd!
The album is a tribute to the works of the Italian Masters of Horror, including Lucio Fulci, Lamberto Bava, Mario Bava, and Michele Soavi.
Evil Black Church is entirely dedicated to the great classics of Italian horror cinema, including The Church, Demons, Black Sunday, The Beyond, and Stage Fright, and centered around the figure of the Devil, evil, and blasphemy in the seventh art. It is Estertor’s own Necronomicon of classic cinema, featuring new compositional elements, with influences ranging from Bathory, Celtic Frost, and Sodom to American death metal bands such as Massacre and Obituary, alongside guitar solos worthy of the most macabre heavy metal.
Estertor emerged from the darkness at the beginning of 2016, comprised of veteran musicians from the Catalan extreme metal scene who have played in bands such as Ered, Decapitated Christ, Onirophagus, Wild Road Roller, Falç, and Blazemth. Sharing the stage with bands such as Necrophobic and Sacramentum, and touring throughout the country and Portugal, Estertor have made a name for themselves in the thrash scene. Their live performance is wild, detailed, and ruthless, with the four members becoming one on stage and delivering a sound that is totally old-school and accurate.
In 2017, they released Buried in Morningside, their first full-length, compiling older songs from the band. In 2021, during the pandemic, the band locked themselves away in their tombs to compose Tales From The Ancient Grave, a much more aggressive album than its predecessor. It was released on CD by War Anthem Records, on red vinyl by Deaf Sparrow (USA), and on splatter and black vinyl in Europe by Carabrecol, Little Jan Hammer, and Global Help Records.
