New album, “Cor Ex Putredine”, out on September 25th!
“Cor Ex Putredine” is the debut album by EQUISETUM, a project formed by Noctuaria (vocals, lyrics) and Mortifero (all instruments, music). The work is rooted in the Italian dark sound, with a reference to Alkaest by Paul Chain, while expanding into multiple Doom trajectories: from the heavier and alienating reminiscences of CELTIC FROST, to the more irregular and dissonant approach of UNHOLY, up to the slow, gothic atmospheres of TYPE O NEGATIVE. Subtle Black Metal influences emerge, particularly in the construction of rhythmic textures, drawing from the essence of THORNS.
“Cor Ex Putredine” presents itself as a focused debut, built on controlled contrasts and a balance between heaviness and timbral exploration. The lyrics, sung in a ritualistic and visionary way by Noctuaria, explores themes of decay and loss.
