Debut album “Dark Side Of Magic” out on October 22nd!
A new project, Draconicon, was born from the minds of five musicians located throughout the Italian territory. Their intent was to make Draconicon a fully-fledged power metal project, a mix of dark and gothic atmosphere, the result of the awakening of an Ancient Evil, left forgotten for so long.
In this era, where evil, sickness, ignorance and violence have become proud leaders in the hearts of people and the human race is signing its own death sentence, they are prospering, as our true happiness lies in shadow and sorrow. Draconicon will be the silent blade that gives you the fatal blow in the Dark. An innovative concept in which chaos and madness overcome order and reason.
“Dark Side of Magic” is the first act of Draconicon, an introduction to their world. The story is about a Dark Force awakening to rule the world over contaminated by humanity, the beginning of Draconicon. The hunger for power led the mortals to the dark side, summoning the Order Draconis. This meant the rise of the chosen ones, bringers of chaos, wild beasts preying on human despair.
Dark Side of Magic is a call to arms for every lost hopeless soul, longing to embrace its true nature and unleash its instinct of harming anything and anyone, of taking satisfaction from violence and glory from death.
The Dragon is to be interpreted as metaphorical representation of power and pure evil incarnated, it has taken control over everything and we are its very own prophets, once mere humans striving for the good, now walking nightmares, cursed and cast away forever from any light.
With its narrative and stories, Dark Side of Magic is the prelude to our most dystopic and mature Opera (so far!). A new Era has begun.
The sound of the Draconicon is European style power metal, inspired by the great masters of the genre with influences ranging from extreme metal to classical music, resulting in an unique timbre that will bring the listener into the dark world of Draconicon.
