New album, “Where The Wicked Meet”, out now!
Deathnir, New Zealand’s electrifying thrash metal band, is excited to announce the release of their third studio album, Where The Wicked Meet. This album marks a significant milestone for the band, showcasing their technical mastery, songwriting prowess, and undeniable stage presence.
With roots deeply embedded in the golden age of heavy metal and inspired by legendary acts like Megadeth, Metallica, and Judas Priest, Deathnir blends classic thrash with fresh, modern elements, influenced by their diverse cultural backgrounds. Comprised of brothers Andrew (Drew) Carter (vocals, guitar) and Adam Johnson (bass, vocals), along with Raana Paterson on drums, Deathnir’s sound is a reflection of their unique fusion of Scandinavian and Māori heritage.
Founded in 2013, Deathnir quickly gained attention with their explosive debut album Die By The Axe (2015), followed by Second Sin (2018). After several international tours, the band has honed their craft into an unstoppable force. Their newest offering, Where The Wicked Meet , was engineered by award-winning producer Dave Rhodes, who helped the band capture their finest sound yet.

The album features 10 scorching tracks, including the band’s most streamed song to date, Te Kiwi . A dual-language metal anthem sung in both Māori and English, Te Kiwi highlights the band’s commitment to representing their heritage while delivering a blistering thrash metal experience.
Where The Wicked Meet was produced in collaboration with the award-winning Dave Rhodes, with recording contributions from Matthew Perry and Daniel Collins. The album also features artwork by Whitu Paterson, with the album proudly made in New Zealand.
