Self-titled new EP out on October 4th!
From the flourishing metal scene in India, Carnage Inc. burst out of Mumbai in 2011, locking into a full line-up the following year. Their sound is steeped in the quintessential speed/thrash metal of the San Francisco Bay Area, yet supercharged with a sassy, furious aggression indebted to the chaos of their local atmosphere.
Their debut EP, Fury Incarnate, released via Transcending Obscurity Distribution in 2016, garnered attention from both local and international fanbases with a slew of positive reviews. The follow-up, their 2019 full-length Tenebris, is the band’s creative take on the “second Dark Age,” the first being the decline of the Roman Empire. Although the songs deal with darkness, the underlying tone of the album is that of Lux en Tenebris—light in darkness—a positive cry for resistance and empowerment.
With their upcoming self-titled EP, Carnage Inc. take aim at contemporary thrash, blasting their rallying cry loud and clear: “Make Thrash Metal Vile Again.” This robust, high-energy EP is firmly rooted in classic ’80s thrash, yet its blazing solos and flashes of riffage also draw blood from the veins of traditional heavy metal. Adding a wicked narrative twist, the concept borrows traits from popular comic book supervillains and reimagines the band members as four characters who unite to form the thrash villain crew—Carnage Inc.
