New album, “Chapter VIII”, out on December 1st!
Axenstar was formed as a metal cover band in 1998 under the name Powerage, but shortly switched name to Axenstar and started to write their own material. After sending their demo CD to various labels Axenstar signed with the Spanish label Arise Records in 2002 and released three albums with them: “Perpetual Twilight” (2002), “Far From Heaven” (2003) and “The Inquisition” (2005).
During this era the band performed at Sweden Rock Festival and got the chance to do their first European tour as a supporting act to Falconer.
In 2006 Axenstar signed with Massacre Records and released their fourth album “The Final Requiem” and after that headed out on a mini-tour in Sweden together with Nocturnal Rites.
After some line-up changes the band started writing and recording the album “Aftermath” that was released by the German label Rock it Up Records in 2011 and following the release the band did a headline tour of the UK, with the supporting act Ascension.
The sixth studio album “Where Dreams Are Forgotten” was released in 2014 via the Swedish label Inner Wound Recordings. The album was received very well, and the lead single “Fear” has reached more than 700,000 streams on Spotify. In 2019 the album “End of All Hope” was released via the German label Ram it Down Records.
During 2023 the band finished the recordings of their 8th studio album “Chapter VIII” that will be released on December 1st via Inner Wound Recordings. The album was mixed and mastered by Ronnie Björnström (Persuader, Sorcerer, Aeon) and the epic old school power metal artwork was created by Rafael Tavares.
“Chapter VIII” is a perfect blend of melody and power. The album contains uplifting power metal hymns, catchy melodies, thundering riffs and melodic solos. All these components create a really strong power metal album, perfect for fans of the genre and bands like Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Helloween and Hammerfall!
