New album, “The Splintered Oar”, out on November 21st!
They say that it takes a band/musician their entire life to create their first album, and on the weathered, atmospheric and truly adventurous “The Splintered Oar”, it sounds like every note has indeed a lifetime of exploration, joy, loss and growth behind it.
Weft is the sole vision of Charlie Anderson, a name you may have heard before as he has toured the world with, and has become a very integral part of Panopticon with his amazing violin work and gift for musical composition. On “The Splintered Oar”, Charlie has meticulously constructed an album that may occasionally hint at his influences, but finds him empowering his musical vision with many different styles. At the core lies atmosphere, ignited by a churning death and black metal accelerant. Add alternate musical paths such as country/Americana, prog and other distortionless endeavors and you have a very adventurous and exciting album.
