New album "Forever Tree" out on April 12th!
Sweden's best kept secret The Mammuthus now raise their tusks, shake the frost out of their beards and hit the land with the mighty album Forever Tree. Nine brand new tracks that will grow roots in your mind and spread warmth in your rock n roll soul.
If you're into stonerish, melodic riffs, bluesy hooks and enjoy some thrilling echoes of 70's rock and 90's grunge you should let The Mammuthus lead your way into their cave.
Forever Tree is the Mammuthus first full length album preceded by two Ep's: Khatanga (2015) and The Herd is gathering (2016). All cover art on Forever Tree is drawn by hand by Swedish artist Per 'Hockey' Roslund.
The lyrics of the Mammuthus stand out of the average rock poetry. The title track tells the story about a man who climbs the Forever Tree that slowly takes over his body and soul - he becomes one with the tree, a not all unpleasant experience. In Herring King the new ruler comes from the sea to set things straight, Gizmo deals with our raging consumption and sets some kind of rhyming record and Line Twelve is about the Gothenburg tram line 12 that doesn't exist...until now. Get ready to dive into the mind of the Mammuthus.
The members of the Mammuthus have changed during the last couple of years. Today the band is a great mix of musicians with differ-ent backgrounds.
Mikael 'Lyris' Karlsson (guitar) used to play the bass with hard rockers Electric Earth. Lyris' flow of riffs never seem to dry up and he writes the major part of the music.
Kalle Edh (guitar & backing vocals) is a demon of licks, a schooled guitarist and pianist who also writes cinematic music for orchestras.
Rolf Norling (bass) has been in the rock game since the beginning, his thundering yet groovy basslines make the Mammuthus move. Rolf also plays with southern rockers Foster Jenkyns
Anders Ström (drums) is a hard hitting beast of a man adding those extra tons of weight to the Mammuthus. He has a thrash metal background and is also in industrial metal band Cynical Existence.
Jocke Åkerman, (vocals and percussion) is the lyricist, the word spitter telling stories you never thought you would hear in a song. Jocke has a past in the indie rock scene and has recently started a reggae band on the side.
The Mammuthus strongly believe in artistic freedom and every member gets his space to create and contribute to the spirit of the band.
