New album "Quelque part entre la guerre et la lâcheté" out on February 22nd!
Dronte is a formation looking, at first glance, at a jazz ensemble (double bass, saxophone, vibraphone...), but which, in reality, delivers an angry yet atmospheric rock coming from nowhere. They merge genres that may seem incompatible like punk and classic, trip-hop and death metal, or even post-rock and noise, so much so that you never really know where you are.
The range of their influences is wide. That goes from the Beatles to Radiohead via Cannibal Corpse, Meshuggah, Mogwai, Deftones, Sonic Youth, Camille Saint-Saens, Rimsky-Korsakov, Portishead, Air or even Bernard Herrmann and Philip Glass.
It is always difficult to stick a label on a band and this is even more the case with them. Post-metal? Progressive rock? Fusion? Experimental music?
The only thing that is sure is that it's Dronte.
